"Bridal Painting"

10"x8" Oil on Linen Panel

Showcasing as a small example of the possibilities for
new Brides and Brides-to-Be to remember their special day

I always enjoy when I can meet the owner of one of my "babies"

While demo-ing at the Hagan Fine Art Gallery & Studio last Saturday during the Southeastern Wildlife Expo (SEWE), I was fortunate to be present when
the new owner of "Moving Off" came in during the festivities.
Linda explained how she came to choose "Moving Off" to add to her collection
and I was able to personalize her painting.
Linda now is one of my family of friends and it feels as if we've been friends for a lifetime!
Thank you, Linda!

"Tulip Tree Blooms"

6"x8" Oil on Linen Panel painted en plein air alla prima  nfs/DONATION

After trying to tackle the entire tulip tree in my previous post, I thought I might zero in on a few of its beautiful blooms against the dark backdrop of trees and bushes.

"Village Garden Shed" SOLD

11"x14" Oil on Linen Panel, painted en plein air - alla prima sold

Our painting group was invited to paint in the beautifully manicured backyard garden of an Old Village resident whose flowers and landscape never disappoint at any time of year.

Even in February our area is experiencing warm, sunny conditions and spring is in the air!  This tulip tree is in full floral regale and its showey pink and white blooms popped in the sunlight against the shadows of the trees and bushes behind.  The garden shed makes for a nice graphic feature amidst the soft vegetation.

Despite the composition mistakes, I enjoyed this process today.  The elements in this composition were so varied in texture, value and temperature and I just "had" to put it all down! Enjoy!
