"Sullivan's Island Waterway" SOLD

10"x8" Oil on Linen SOLD
This was the second painting of the day at the Boat House location.
A fantastic story: as I was painting this we all heard an enormous commotion in the water to our left and saw what we thought was a whale!!
It turned out to be the largest manatee any of us had ever seen! It must have been a bull. It was HUGE!
It's a rare thing to see a manatee in our brackish waters but every once in a while one is spotted. This sight was simply the cherry on top of our perfect Sun Day (sundae; get it? ha ha ha)!
All right. I'll leave the comedy to the comedians!

I love your marsh! When we go to St. Simons in Georgia, the marsh is so beautiful to me because it is always changing. People think that southern coastal areas don't have a theater of the seasons, but the marsh proves them wrong. You are so lucky to be near it!

You are right, Judie, the marshes are our "Season Barometer" here in the Low Country.
Thanks for all your comments, Judie. I think you are my biggest fan!! You are so appreciated too!

Hello Mary! This painting is amazing along with all of your work! In the write up you mention this is the second painting of the day - by any chance is that other one for sale?

I've been hunting a painting just like this for months now - a local marsh and water scene, right size, and right price :) In turn, I was sad when the Charleston Artist Collective email came out and this one was already sold!

Please let me know if the other one is still available and also if you'd be willing to do another one similar to this one if not.

Thank you so much! Your work is just beautiful.

Thank you, Katie. I really appreciate your kind and encouraging words. First of all, the "first" painting of that day is "Statuesque" just above this painting on my blog. Secondly, I just might do another painting of this same vantage point, however, no two are ever alike. . . but keep checking back and I'll post them as soon as I paint 'em. Thanks again! If you'd like to contact me directly you may do so at: 843-693-9601 or email me at: artistmlh@yahoo.com. Thank you again, Katie.
