"Pot O Gold"

"Pot O' Gold" is a still life of beautiful Sunflowers in my Grandmother's 

Haviland Autumn Leaf French China.  

The composition is such that the complicated flowers and china juxtapose the wood dining table and dark background (a "rest area" for the eye) forcing the viewer to explore the bold focal point.  

It was my joy to convey the color nuances found in the shadows of the Tea Pot and reflections.

The colors of the tea pot even reappear within the flowers themselves. 

"Gentle Uprising"

"Gentle Uprising" is a play off of an older painting I did back in 2018.  This painting was inspired by a small 6"x8" Plein Air Painting I did of this image on location in Sullivan's Island SC.  The title hopefully ties together three of the major elements of this piece: the soft, quiet flight of the Ibis rising from the marsh grasses, the large, ominous cloud forming up from the cool morning air and the direction of the waterway taking you to a place beyond the land masses.
