We couldn't have asked for a finer day to paint outside.  The weather was perfect!!  It is always so wonderful to be able to share the love of plein air painting with like-minded artist friends.  Missed those who couldn't be there with us today (and love and appreciate when nearby artist-friends ride up on their golf carts to show off their "precious cargo!") 

Today, one of our regular painters took time off from painting with us today in order to make time as she played host to her visiting son, daughter-in-law and new 3 month old granddaughter.  

They stopped by to introduce us to that beautiful baby and her daddy.  

Words cannot describe how beautiful this baby is!  Leslie, She stole my heart!!

"Oyster Cove"

What initially drew me to this place was how the low tide reveals such beautiful color and texture transitions in the pluff mud.  Additionally, the low tide reveals oyster clusters and beds.  The rocks made statements of their own until the water covered them all back up again.

If you'll notice, in the back, just under the Sullivan's Island Lighthouse, there is a sweet little cove tucked away from all the boat traffic to our left (out of the frame).

PS- If you look closely, you'll note the many "no-see-ums" caught in my paint. . proof positive of a painting painted out-of-doors. I'll have to allow it to dry down and brush them out (ha!).
