9"x12" Oil on Linen mounted Birch Board Panel SOLD
I may have "pushed" the colors on this image a bit too much. . . so I may re-take, but this is from a photo I took on one of the last days of the swimming season as school started late last year. . . I've been desiring to paint this image for quite some time. The day was glorious and it was one I was able to enjoy with both my children as we all played in the surf of Sullivan's Island.
Thank you for visiting. The following posts represent my artistic journey; journaling my paintings for all to review. Each painting is available for sale For payment information and shipping contact me directly artistmlh@maryhoffmanfineart.com. Thank you and enjoy the site!

"Pitcher of Sun"
12"x9" Oil on Linen/Birch Board Panel
Yesterday was my designated plein air day and it was rainy and cold! So I set up a still life of my own sunshine. Sunflowers always make me happy (especially on a gloomy day).

"Beach Around The Bend"
8"x10" Oil on Linen/Birch Board Panel
It was the first sunny and somewhat warm day of the year and I was blessed to be out painting with one of my painting buddies. . . I simply "played" in that fact and allowed myself to enjoy the color, shapes of shadows and light as I painted this.

"Fragrant Early Blooms"
11"x14" Oil on Linen/Birch Board panel
This month's theme for The Charleston Artist Collective is "Intoxicating" and that is exactly my reaction to one of my favorite spring flowers, Hyacinths. To my surprise, I found these sprouting where I had set the pots aside last fall after cutting them down, thinking they were only a season away from the trash! They look so pretty that I put them by my front porch. Along side my watering can, they made a pretty little display that I had to paint it! Happy Springtime everyone!

"Belle Journee Deux" SOLD
A "re-do" of the original "Belle Journee" which was destroyed en transit to its new home. Although it is not an exact copy of the original (in part to maintain their originality), it is my hope that this might provide happiness to that buyer or anyone else who desires it. Have a beautiful day, "Belle Journee!"
